Kieran played a pivotal role in the formation of Palmerston North United FC, skilfully handling negotiations between member clubs to bring them all together. It is no mean feat to execute a merger of this scale, and his expertise enabled a smooth and successful transition. His leadership and hard work continue to be the backbone of the club’s successes both on and off the pitch.
In terms of day-to-day operations, Kieran wears many hats within PNU — Serving as the President, coaching his son’s 8th grade team, managing and playing for the North End Old Boys just to name a few.
His dedication doesn’t stop there; Kieran is a key player in organising the training grounds, chairing board meetings, handling all kit and equipment orders and distribution, organising registrations and subs, representing the club at Central Football meetings, assisting with multiple senior teams’ cards and plays a vital role in the clubs fundraising efforts.
A lot of the hard graft that Kieran puts in is behind the scenes and without the countless hours he volunteers each week PNU wouldn’t be in the positive space it is currently.
He’s one of the all-round good guys in Manawatu Football and we believe very deserving of this award. Thank you, Kieran, for your incredible commitment and contribution to the Manawatu Football Community.
