Women’s Federation League

OneStaff PN Marist are back on top of the table after a 2-0 away win over previous leader Taradale AFC. A goal either half was enough to see Marist reverse the result from last time the teams met and leap frog Taradale on the summit by goal difference. In the other match NP Rangers AFC were too strong for Team McGhie Football Whanganui after they secured the 5-2 win to remain within striking distance of the leaders. Holly Kleinsman continues her great form for Rangers with another brace and leads the Golden Boot race by three with nine strikes. Isles Construction Massey University FC had the Bye with the league pausing this weekend for the cup round. Rangers host Massey in a Kate Sheppard Cup Round 1 match while Taradale plays Port Hill United in Round 1 of the Women’s Federation Cup.

Lotto Central Federation League

We start on Sunday where Isles Construction Massey University FC move back to the top of the ladder after winning a hard fought away battle 3-2 against Waikanae Beach Top10 Gisborne Thistle. Havelock North Wanderers shown their cards with a 3-1 home win over Watsons PN Marist, both teams within three points of Massey but Havelock have a game in hand. Lucian Armstrong rocketed home a hat trick in Turbine Residential North End’s 6-1 win when hosting Levin at Memorial Park. In the final match GJ Gardner Homes Whanganui Athletic defended their home patch with a 2-1 win against Peggy Gordons NP Rangers and Alexander Electrical Napier Marist were the team with a Bye. This weekend sees cup action when PN Marist head back to Havelock in the Chatham Cup Round 1 game with North End, Massey and NP Rangers all active in the Federation Cup.

Massey University were fired up after being called seller dwellers by the Manawatu Standard and  Gwylym Hamilton fired them ahead after 25th minutes followed by Josh Shannon and then Charlie Brown to have the student side 3-0 up after 39 minutes. This sparked LongChill Takaro Jokers into life and on the stroke of half-time Satore Chambers gave the orange and black a lifeline, 3-1 at the break. That lifeline turned into a massive opportunity when Chambers secured his brace in the 49th minute, game on! Neither Takaro nor Massey could fine the killer blow and the game ended 3-2 to Massey.

Netra Ghimire opened the scoring when RSM Breakers hosted Versatile Whangnui City but that lead was cut short when Latham Berry equalized in the 41st minute. RSM took the game away from the visitors when they scored two in 10.

Seemed like neither team worked on defending during the week when OneStaff Marist met PNBHS as 12 goals were scored! PNBHS Were pushed all the way and at 5-4 in the second half left it late with 3 goals in 7 minutes to push the score line out. Adarsh Dutt with a notable hat-trick and Captain Mori scoring again!

teamlewis RE/MAX Feilding United march on with another impressive 3-0 win. Harris Hamilton netted to try and keep pace with his brother (Gwylym) and then Tommi Hart doubled the lead with 23 minutes gone. North End Reserves then showed some resilience but couldn’t find the magic to unlock the door and on the stroke of full-time Carne Groombridge signed-off another professional performance from the Feilding side, job done.

Mo Eltayeb nets a hat-trick and rounds of a solid performance for Hokowhitu away to Athletic. Adam Tipper put the home side ahead after 8 minutes but Hokowhitu quickly restored parity and then went ahead. When the home side were reduced to 10 men the Hokowhitu team were already ahead and Athletic did well not to concede any further goals.

Round 7 match of the round: TBC

Apologies to Takaro Titans as I missed them off the review last week! In their game this weekend they hosted Massey Development. What played out was a 2-2 draw. Jesse Bailey scored a first half brace to put the students ahead but a David Benton goal halved the deficit. A Satore Chambers 67th minute equalizer left plenty of time for either team to find a winner. It wasn’t to be and the points were shared.

Linton were too organized and strong for their Hokowhitu opposition and took the game comfortably. Braces to Bruer and Jones.

Team Campbell – Harcourts Feilding United Reserves took a big point against league leaders Alteration Specialist North End Veterans. Scott Gillespie put the Vets ahead after 12 minutes and North End looked comfortable until Feilding found their rhythm and stepped up the tempo. Reward came in the 60th minute when Matthew Kitchen scored and levelled things up. Both sides let chances go begging and the points were shared.

Mateo Godoy Da Rosa opened the scoring after 10 minutes when PN Marist Development played PNBHS 2nd XI and when Josh Draper doubled the lead in the 42nd all looked good. Luke Harris scored just 60 seconds later and it was 2-1 Marist at the break. A tight and tense second half played out and late drama unfolded when first Jayden Simpson scored at 90+1 and Riley Maclean stole the points with a 90+2 winner. Marist left stunned, Palmy Boys jubilant.

Round 7 match of the round: TBC

Wrinklies play Rangers off park with a stunning performance. The students could do little to stop wave after wave of Wrinklies attacks with Adam Rose the shining light netting a hat-trick in the first half.

In what turned out to be not a great ay at home for the students the Rigs were also comprehensively beaten by Chillmax Takaro Rebels. Gavin Eades with four goals to his name!

Celts and A’s play out an entertaining 2-2 draw. Bailey Wynd scored both for the Celts but the A’s data wasn’t yet available.

Vikings have an impressive away win in Levin. Anthony Vercoe opened the scoring in the 10th minute an Josiah Maxclosed it in the 90th for the visitors. Liam Forward and Sean Finlayson scored for the hosts.

North End Socials notched up a win against Linton Reserves 2-0. Kudakwashe Ngewerume and Fortune Shumba with the goals.

Takaro DnB handed Athletic back to back defeats for the first time in three seasons. Hamish Preddy and Dylan Ryan put Takaro in the lead before Massey Athletic pulled one back. Takaro resolute enough to see the game out.

Levin Colts and RSM Rangers played out a thrilling 3-3 draw. Ben Pitcher put the visitors ahead after 35 minutes and the game sprung to life. Levin responded in the 40th when Tainui Baker scored then Josh Tamblyn scored in the 51st and Oliver James responded almost immediately and drew the home side level in the 52nd. The visitors went ahead when Mark Pitcher slotted in the 67th before Tainui Baker broke hearts when he equalized in the 89th minute and secured a point for the hosts.

CAC PN Marist Greenies and HimaLions had fun in front of goal with 9 goals being scored in the game. Brendan Hurleywith a brace for Greenies. Still need to sort the HimaLions data out.

Manawatu Division 4

Takaro Fury sneak 1-0 against Hustlers. A solitary Jake Russell goal in the 60th was enough to secure all three points for the Takaro side.

Plunderers weren’t mucking around knocking in 8 against the visiting DSC Rangers side. Amer Jaffal with 4!

PN Marist Park Rangers take all three points against McDonalds Feilding United, 4-1. Park Rangers scoring data couldn’t be found at this time but Feildings goal came via Gamied Fredericks.

Post Office Hotel Pahiatua visited town and went home happy and with three points after beating Takaro Glory 4-0. Sorry no scoring data to bring you.

Manawatu Masters

Legends held to draw by Resonanat Masters, 3-3. RSM Legends vs Resonant Masters turned in a 3-3 thriller. Legends out to a 2 goal halftime lead. Whilst Samuel Hill bagged a brace for Legends. – Match report courtesy of Richard Morgan

Jennian Homes Feilding United stay top of the table after putting 8 past RSM Old Boys. Daniel “Bomber” Brown with a hat-trick for Feildings Yellow and Black and notable mentions to Duane Butts and Mal Thomas for their contributions.

Shamrock Rovers enjoy day out in Levin and come away with a 4-1 win. Still looking for Rovers data.

Banshee’s v Bati Boys looks like and awesome game with 8 goals and ending in a 4-4 draw. Scoring data unavailable at this time.

Team Robinson Manawatu Women’s Premiership

Evergreenz push Mayhem all the way but can’t quite pip them. When Anna-Marie Fletcher scored in the 85th minute Evergreenz thought they had earned a point against Mayhem. Only for Ashleigh Hurley to complete her brace in the 88thminute and win Mayhem all three points.

Massey Reserves found the back of the net 4 times away against Levin with Jannika Roubos netting a brace for the visitors, Massey scored 3 goals in 10 minutes and the score line didn’t reflect how close the game was.

North Ends Baby Blues are on fire of late and a scintillating hat-trick by Axel Oswald capped off a fine performance by the team. Feilding is a far better team than that score line reads and will no doubt bounce back.

Manawatu Women’s Championship

Friday night football came to the women’s championship when both Massey teams agreed to play under lights out at the MCAT. Golden Girls wining the game comfortably but what a sight under lights, more to come. Sydnie Uridge with 4 goals on the night. Blue Bandits gave them a scare though when after 10 minutes they levelled the game up 1-1 when Brie scored.

Clovers go oh so close to taking points but Mysteries just edged them 1-0. A Charlotte Holdsworth goal in the 55thminute all that separated the sides.

Valkyrie take all three points over hard battling North End Hawks. The game was a tight affair with Valkyrie leading 1-0 at the break. A Lilly Galloway second half brace gave the home side the breathing room they needed. A Rachel Mancergoal kept North End Hawks in the game but the hosts wouldn’t let go of their lead.

LJ Contractors Takaro Avengers are back up and running! After 4 seasons without a Women’s team Takaro are back up and running. They faced off against high flying Linton FC, a new team for the club also.

League leaders Linton were unable to contain the infectious enthusiasm of the Takaro side who won 4-2. Jemima Daniels brought Linton FC level but a late brace from Monique Roberts securing the points!
